GONE WITH THE WIND : MADE FOR WORLD WAR 2

Gone With the Wind was released in 1939. It was designed to portray the South differently to what it actually was to bring America together for WW2.

At the Academy Awards ceremony, Hattie McDaniel was racially segregated from the rest of the white actors at the ceremony, sat at a table at the back with only her minder.
